How do I get to Provincetown?
Travel by Car
Provincetown is at the end of Route 6. From the south you can come
through Providence Rte. 195; from the north or west Rte. 495 or
through Boston by Rte. 3. All routes connect with Route 6. Driving
time from Boston or Providence is almost two and a half hours, New
York about seven hours.
By Ferry
You can take a ferry from Boston with
Bay State Cruise
Company (877-783-3779) or with
Boston Harbor Cruises
(617-227-4321 or 877-733-9425). Bay State offers its regular ferry
(which takes three hours) and the high-speed Provincetown Express
Catamaran ferry (which takes 90 minutes; reservations highly
recommended). Boston Harbor Cruises offers only high-speed service
(again, 90 minutes).
By Plane
Option 1: Perhaps the easiest way to get here is via
Cape Air (800-352-0714).
Joint fares are available from many cities, with easy connections in
Boston, particularly from Delta, JetBlue, USAir, American, and
Continental.
Option 2: Fly into Boston and then book ferry service as noted
above. Provincetown Bears has partnered with American Airlines
to provide our attendees a 5% discount for Provincetown Bear Week
when flying into Boston, MA. The valid travel dates for this
discount are July 4 – 23, 2010. You can easily access American’s
fares and apply this discount by going to
www.aa.com/rainbow to book your flight. Place the Promotion
Code 9870BB in the promotion code box and your discount will be
calculated automatically. This special discount is valid off any
applicable published fares listed for American Airlines, American
Eagle, and American Connection. International originating guests
will need to contact your local reservation number and refer to the
Promotion Code 9870BB. You may also call 1-800-433-1790 to book your
flights, please refer to the Authorization Number 9870BB when you
call. Please note there is a reservation service charge for all
tickets issued by phone. Please use our preferred partner, American

By Bus

In addition to the host hotels, Provincetown offers a number of options when it comes to accommodations. As a small coastal fishing village, Provincetown is made up of several historic properties that have been converted into guesthouses and condominiums. Is registration required?
Registration is encouraged and will afford you with the most opportunities to attend each event, including those reserved for registered guests only. Several events can been attended without registration by providing the cover charge at the door.

Does Bear Week raise funds for the community or charitable organizations?
Provincetown Bears believes in supporting the community. Organizations supported included GLAD and Provincetown Volunteer Firemen's Association.
How can I become involved with Provincetown Bears?
Provincetown Bears is run by a small Board of Directors who plan throughout the year for Bear Week. Volunteers are used during Bear Week to prepare registration packages, staff the Information Booth, and to work event front doors to name a few examples. Do I need a car or transportation during the week?
Once in Provincetown, rely on your feet or bike for transportation, as it is truly a walking town. Other local transport options include cab companies, pedi cabs, and a subsidized shuttle bus that travels around Provincetown and the outer Cape.

Who can attend Provincetown Bear Week?
Ptown Bears wants to be clear that all are welcome to Bear Week. There is no criteria of weight, looks, age or fur. In the words of Shania Twain "This is not some contest." We host some of the most diverse bear parties, and we hope the most fun. Provincetown is one of North America's most famous gay resorts, and we share our town with many others who enjoy the energy of the bears and like hanging out with us. Some are even bear chasers! This is not an exclusive event - but one that we hope will become a favorite for all attendees.
If I registered and cannot attend, what is your refund policy?
If your registration was made within the past 60 days, you can request a full refund. If your registration was made more then 60 days ago, PayPal policies do not permit the refund of PayPal fees and therefore your refund will be reduced by the PayPal fee amount.
